The Department of Defense has found the project poses no concerns to U.S. national security and does not object to the issuance of the Presidential for the Project.
02/14/2014 -  Department of State Concurrence
Two Department of State has found the project poses no concerns to U.S. foreign policy and does not object to the issuance of the Presidential for the Project.

Consistency Determination

This transmission project promises to deliver a tremendous supply of clean, renewable hydropower from Canada to the New York City Metropolitan Area, one of the nation's largest energy markets. If constructed as proposed and conditioned, the project can provide several important energy benefits. The project improves the State's ability to meet future market demand for low-cost electricity should current power sources go off-line or become obsolete.
06/18/2010 -  Department of Energy EIS Website Launched
The United States Department of Energy is preparing an environmental impact statement (EIS) to evaluate potential environmental impacts associated with the proposed Champlain Hudson Power Express transmission line between the U.S. and Canada. The purpose of this web site is to provide up-to-date EIS-related information to the public and other interested parties.
05/03/2010 -  TDI is pleased to have filed on May 3rd with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission our request for rate making authority. This application is an important step in the commercialization of the Champlain Hudson Power Express project. Click to view the complete application.

Champlain Hudson Power Express, Inc. (CHPEI) has applied for a Presidential permit to construct, operate, maintain, and connect an electric transmission line across the United States border with Canada.
