Eligibility
All applicants must serve members of the “target population,” or disadvantaged communities, low-income individuals, and transitioning fossil fuel workers, in accessing and building careers in the green economy.

Solicitation Priorities
The GEF is focused on funding green jobs training programs and wraparound services associated with programs that prepare participants for careers in the green economy. Applicants that serve communities in counties intersected by the CHPE Project Route (Clinton, Essex, Washington, Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany, Greene, Columbia, Ulster, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, and the neighborhoods of the South Bronx and Astoria in the Bronx and Queens) are given some priority.
Fund Awards and Distribution
Funding will be disbursed over the course of 20 years, and grants in this first round are expected to amount between $50,000 and $250,000. Funds will be paid in multiple disbursements based on grantees’ individual needs and spent within one year of that award. Grantees may be considered for additional funding in the future grantmaking cycles based on the performance of their first grant.
