Transmission Developers Inc. (TDI) develops unique clean energy transmission projects in an environmentally responsible manner. Our projects use proven high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cable technology to link trapped generation resources such as wind, hydro and other renewables with markets that are seeking new sources of clean power. By installing our projects underground or underwater we avoid the negative impacts of overhead transmission. These buried lines increase the electric grid’s safety and reliability, while providing hardened infrastructure that is less susceptible to damage from natural disasters.
In today’s market, acute transmission bottlenecks are causing prices to rise, hindering the northeast’s ability to transform to a renewable future. TDI understands that in order for power markets to work efficiently and effectively there must be sufficient transmission to allow low-cost, renewable generation to flow to meet the needs of consumers.
TDI has offices in Albany, New York City and Vermont.

Transmission Developers Inc. Projects
Currently TDI is focused on developing two projects; the Champlain Hudson Power Express, a transmission line from the U.S.-Canadian border to New York City and the New England Clean Power Link a transmission line located in Vermont that will serve the New England market.
The Champlain Hudson Power Express is a fully permitted 338-mile transmission line that will deliver 1,000 – 1,250 MW of renewable, reliable, low-cost power to New York City. The High Voltage direct current (HVDC) cable will be placed in waterways or buried along existing road and railroad transportation corridors.
The New England Clean Power Link is a fully permitted 154-mile underwater and underground transmission line that will deliver 1,000 MW of renewable, reliable, low-cost power to the New England market.
More information on the New England Clean Power Link can be found at: http://www.necplink.com.
